"Our brand identity perfectly reflects the concept of our restaurant—to provide a professional, funky, and fun experience."—Andy Husbands, owner and chef.
Boston, MA, 18 October, 2002—Sametz Blackstone Associates, a leading communications practice, announced today the launch of Rouge, the latest restaurant addition to Boston's stylish South End. Sametz Blackstone developed the brand identity for the New-Orleans inspired restaurant.
Developed by award-winning chef Andy Husbands and his wife Gretchen Husbands of Tremont 647 and Sister Sorel fame, along with business partner Peter White, Rouge at 480 Columbus Avenue is located in Boston's South End--an increasingly celebrated restaurant neighborhood. Rouge serves Southern-inspired American cuisine along with comfortable Southern style hospitality. The restaurant decor envisioned by Gretchen Husbands evokes the duality of light and dark, nice and naughty, in the dining room and bar respectively.
"Our brand identity perfectly reflects the concept of our restaurants--to provide a professional, funky, and fun experience." Says Andy Husbands, owner and chef. "Sametz Blackstone has really helped us to establish a unique restaurant experience in a market that demands differentiation. Our identity makes intriguing promises that we are confident patrons will experience when they arrive and enjoy our cuisine."
"Andy Husbands, one of the top innovative chefs in the country, has brought a new restaurant category to the South End. His plans are to create a 'voodoo / New Orleans' style, mixing proper with coziness," said Andrew Maydoney, Vice-President of Sametz Blackstone. "The identity program we've created for Rouge is strong, bold, and evocative--echoing the founders vision for their creation."
"Rouge's unique focus will bring an exciting new twist to the Boston restaurant scene and I wanted the brand to express the blood-red split personality that you encounter as soon as you walk into the door of Rouge," commented Andy Husbands, owner of Rouge. "Sametz Blackstone's experience with branding and identity coupled with their terrific process, captured what we needed for Rouge's Cajun-spiced image."
